Of Monsters and Men

Of Monsters and Men is a five member indie-folk pop band from Iceland, formed in 2010. The members are lead singer/guitarist Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir, co-singer-guitarist Ragner "Raggi" Porhallsson, guitarist Brynjar Leifsson, drummer Arnar Rosenkranz Hilmarsson and bassist Kristjan Pall Kristjansson.The band's origins began in 2009 when Nanna decided to add to her solo project, Songbird. Of Monsters and Men entered 2010's Musiktilaunir, an annual music competition held in Iceland. Following Musiktilaunir, the quartet added two more members, Arni( backing vocals) and Krstjan (bass,backing vocals).

Interesting Facts about OMAM

• They believe in trolls...yes trolls. In an interview with gigwise.com they confirmed the belief that all people from Iceland beleive in troll.
• They credit Iceland's weather as a reason for their success. "There's nothing fun to do so you have to do boring things like start a band," joked former keyboardist Arni Guojonsson during a 2012 radio interview.
• The band performed on the Saturday Night Live show in May 2012
